1. The conception of the contest

1.1 If the goal in demolition derby is destroying all other cars, the goal in Demolition Circuit is to pass as many laps as possible in certain amount of time.

1.2 In demolition derby the winner is the strongest, the best prepared vehicle. In Destruction Circuit the winner is who passes most circuits in four hours.

1.3 Taking part of the competition is affordable for the all the contestants.

1.4 The age limit is 16. 16-18year old contestants must provide a signed agreement from a parent on the race day.

  1. Contest area and competing

2.1 The contest takes place in Valga, on the territory of Saviaugu 18,

2.2. After technical control the service area will be shown and opened by the organizer.

2.3. Only driver and mechanics with racing car can go to service area. Other supporting vehicles admittance will be said on event day.

2.4 The race takes place on 70% asphalt road and 30% gravel road, which is surrounded with concrete elements.

2.5 The race is driven in clockwise direction. Counterclockwise driving is prohibited, the

maximum that is allowed to drive counterclockwise is along the radius of the arena.

  1. Participation and rewarding

3.1 To participate the contestant must register himself/herself at www.valgaromuring.ee

3.2 Entry fee is 30 euros, that includes free entry for the driver + 2 mechanics +

the fee for the electronic timing system. Information about payment will appear after first registration. Final registration list will appear after organizers have overlooked payments.

3.3 Rewards are given to the three best drivers in time race and superfinals.

  1. The race

4.1 The cars are placed on the track the same order as they arrive, either one by one or multiples in the lineup. After the start is given the goal is to make as much laps as possible in 4 hours. Only the laps that are passed clockwise will be counted.

4.2 Cars will race for 15minutes witch will be followed by 15 minutes of servicing and then cars will race for another 15 minutes. Race will last like this for 4 hours.

4.3 You can drive into the service area at any given moment during the race to fill up your fuel tank, repair the car etc.  There is no time or visit limit at the service area

4.4 Contact between the cars during the race is allowed and even recommended.

4.5 Ramming the drives door is forbidden.

4.6 If there are cars on the arena that block the race or there is something else going on that needs attention on the arena, referees are allowed to stop the race (red flag + red signal light). With this signal all the drivers on the arena must stop, stay at their positions and aren’t allowed to exit their cars.

4.7 When the race is stopped by referees during the race it is prohibited to repair the car or fill the fuel tank at the racing area, the mechanics must stay at the service area and the drivers have to remain in the cars.

4.8. The referees have the right to remove a contestant from the race if he sees him/her being a danger to others or himself.

4.9 When rules are violated by the driver, then the referees have the right to deduct a maximum of 5 laps from the total amount of the drivers laps.

4.10 A driver who keeps violating the rules repeatedly will be disqualified by the referee.

  1. The race car

5.1 The car must be 2WD. The model has to be recognizable from the outside. Allowed body types: sedan, hatchback, wagon. No off-road vehicles, (SUVs and minivans prohibited).

5.2 The engine of the car must be mounted at original place

5.3 The cars brake system must work

5.4 All windows must be removed from the car (including the glass covering headlights and tail lights, excluding the front window, which can be kept by own risk if it´s made from laminated glass not from “salt glass”. If the car has a sunroof, the glass must be removed and replaced with a net or other material, to avoid the chance of falling out. The removed front window must be replaced with a net that protects the driver from flying objects. Maximum thickness of the net 2mm.

5.5 No extra strengthening of the body or undercarriage is allowed. The hood and trunk must not be welded shut. No tow hook, tow bar or other sharp objects are allowed to stick out. It is prohibited to use thicker materials than the original material of the car while fixing the rusted parts. The use of thickening materials (concret, makroflex and etc.) is prohibited in the hollow sections of the car. Crankcase protection is allowed, max width is the width of the crankcase, The maximum thickness is when using iron- 2mm, aluminum- 3mm. The crankcase protection can be attached at the lamframe at the front part and the rear one has to be attached from the first point of the front axle beam.

5.6 The driver’s door has to be painted red and can’t be used as a advertising area. The driver’s door can’t be welded shut. Other doors can be closed with two 5×5 cm metal plates.

5.7 The drivers window has to be covered with a net, the net must open from the inside and outside. It must open from the bottom  (the referee must be able to open the net in max 5 seconds).

5.8 The plastic parts of the bumper must be removed from the race car. The bumpers must be original, the bumper beam can be attached only at the original spots. Extra holes are forbidden.

5.9 No rollcage in the salon

5.10 No Race seat

5.11 The rear axel must be original and can’t be rigid. (welded on to the body or strengthened otherwise).

5.12 The radiator and the battery can be put into the salon, the battery must be fixed to the floor and the driver has to be protected from possible radiator or water hose explosion (the hoses have to have an extra protection to avoid coolant burning the driver).  Do not use mounting tape to fix the battery’s (we suggest using safety belt or cargo belt material that can be fixed to the floor with bolts).

5.13 The gas tank (petrol tank) has to be built so that it is safe for the driver himself/herself and for the other drivers as well. It has to be made out of metal or industrial plastic. It can not leak. Do not use windscreen washing liquid canisters and other similar canisters. The gas tank can not leak when the car rolls over.

5.14 Cooling liquid can be water only.

5.15. The cooling liquid tank can not be outside of the car salon or engine room.

5.16 The exhaust system has to stay as is, the length is not determined.

5.17 There can´t have any loose objects in the car during the race (like spare wheels, tools and etc.).

5.18 The racecar has to fit into the technical conditions mentioned above throughout the competition (outeriour excluded). The organizer has the right to give technical inspections on the racing cars throughout the race, any violation can lead to a disqualification from the competition.

  1. Timing

6.1 Timing is measured by an electronic timing system.

6.2 On the race cars roof has to be a plate, upright, with the contestant’s number. The plate has to be 30cm x 30cm, white colored. The contestant number is the same number you get when you register for the race, its allowed to put that on the car before the race.

6.3 The timing system (transponder) is placed on the race cars numberplate on the race day.

6.4 After registration and paying the registration fee the contestant gets the transponder in exchange for his/her identification document (ID).

6.5 After the race the contestant must return the transponder.

6.6 Loosing the transponder penalty 50 euros.

7.Contestants and Team

7.1 The contestant must be at least 17 y.o.

7.2 The contestant has to be sober.

7.3 The contestant has to wear a helmet with chin protection.

7.4 The contestant has to wear protective classes (the glasses are not mandatory if the helmet has a visor. He/she is not allowed to wear long sleeved trousers or shirts that are easily flammable. No easily flammable gloves. Every contestant is allowed to have two mechanics.

7.5 Children under 12yeas are forbidden at the boxing area.

7.6 No drinking alcohol at the boxing area. Violators have to leave the boxing area.

7.7 The contestant is responsible for his/her and his/her mechanics behavior throughout the race. Mechanics or contestants unethical behavior can result in disqualification.

7.8 The car is allowed to the service area only by the head referee and if there is any room. When working with the tools please keep in mind the small of the boxing area.

  1. Other

9.1 The organizers are not responsible for any instants and injuries that may happen during the contest. Participation is the contestants risk. Same goes to the team’s mechanics.

9.2 Questions, problems, suggestions can be brought to the head referee only by the contestants or his/her club, who registered them.  It is prohibited to disrupt the work of the referees during the contest.

9.3 Protests can only be submitted after the contest during one-hour period at the secretariat. Protest fee: 50 euros.

9.4 Head referee is the only one who has the right to give out fines.
